Step 4 Promotion: Google

<< Step 3 Promotion: Social Media Step 5 Promotion: In bookstores >>

What would life be without Google? One thing is certain: without Google it would take us take us far more time to find things that interest us. The same applies to your book. Our website has been Google optimised, which means our website can be found quickly and has a high ranking on the Google search pages.

By describing your book well and by choosing the right keywords, the chance increases that people find your book when they search, for example, for the topic or theme of your book.

Tips

  • Limit yourself to about 10-15 keywords. Too many of them will lead to a worse search result rather than a better one.
  • Choose keywords that truly reflect the contents of your book. For instance genre, target group, theme, etc.
  • Writing a short summary is an art in itself. Just try to sum up in a few sentences what your book is about. Take time to write one and have others read it.
  • Don’t be too modest when writing ‘about the author’, but on the other hand refrain from telling things that are not true.

FAQ

What should I do to be found on Google?
Our website is completely ‘Google optimised’. To ensure your book will be found, you have to accurately fill in the keywords that characterize what your book is about. You also have to enter a short description of your book, for which it is important that the right keywords are included. Last but not least, it is important that you, the author, can be found as well. Hence, we offer a section called ‘about the author’.

Didn’t I already fill in Google at Step 3 of the publication process?
That’s right, when you did that correctly and entirely you only have to double-check now. But as it is really important that the keywords and description are correct and complete, we added Google to the promotion steps as well.
